Think of all the most expensive Pokémon collectibles. Sure, the average person like you and me will never have the means ro drop hundreds of thousands of dollars on rare Pokémon cards, but we can at least understand why the rarity of them can increase the value dramatically. Now, think about a single Cheeto snack being auctioned off and bought for nearly $88,000. Meet Cheetozard.
What is Cheetozard?

As you might tell, Cheetozard is a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto that just happens to somewhat slightly be shaped like Charizard, one of Pokémon’s most popular monsters. It was attached to a customized card and placed in a clear box after someone just happened to pull the food out of their bag at some point between 2018 and 2022. We’re not sure why there’s a four year range that no one knows the origins of this chip about, but moving on.
Cheetozard was put up for auction on Goldin, a site that specializes in selling collectibles and memorabilia. According to the page’s bid history, the first bid came on February 10 at a “low” $250 before the price tag slowly but steadily continued to rise until the final bid on March 2. The site also says the Cheeto went viral on social media last year, but we have to say, this is the first we’re hearing of it.
It’s stories like this that really show how rich people have way too much money. A single chip (are Cheetos actually chips?) being sold for plenty more than our annual gross income really nails home how much better off some people are than us. It really makes us wonder what other oddities the auction winner has. Do they collect other Pokémon-shaped foods? How stale is Cheetozord in that box? The questions are now beginning to pile.
