The previous statements made by Microsoft Gaming’s CEO Phil Spencer of there being “no red line” when it comes to popular Xbox owned games coming to rival platforms seems to be true as new rumors are making the rounds that Halo may be ported over to the Nintendo Switch.
Gaming insider Nate The Hate while on the Nate The Hate podcast has now made claims that Microsoft looks to expand its multiplatform aspirations in 2025 by bringing Flight Simulator and Halo: The Master Chief Collection to the Nintendo Switch 2 and the PS5. He also goes on to claim that Microsoft in general will be a very big supporter of the Switch 2 and will be porting over current Switch titles like Pentiment, Grounded and Hi-Fi Rush with upgraded resolutions and features.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is of course the main focus of all this talk seeing how when you think of Xbox this is the game you think of almost right away outside of the Gears Of War franchise. But this fine collection of games was released nearly a decade ago in 2014 and includes the likes of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST’s campaign, Halo Reach, and Halo 4. Not to mention there is still a large player count that continues to inhabit the multiplayer component of this game, which if ported over to other platforms will only continue to expand and thrive.
It’s also worth noting Xbox at this point in time also has rumors circulating that they’re working on a The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion remake in Unreal Engine 5. Nate The Hate also believes that this will be a multiplatform style of release but did not mention the Nintendo Switch 2 as a specific platform for this title to release on.
