When it comes to the Warhammer 40k universe, no melee weapon is as recognizable as the chainsword. The Space Marines use this magnificently deadly weapon and you get personally acquainted with the weapon in the latest Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 game. Thanks to a recent Helldivers 2 leak, it appears as if a potential collab is in the works and it involves the chainsword.
Recently, leaks have also suggested that the Terminid are getting stronger and evolving thanks to a mysterious event called The Gloom. We have also seen leaks of urban planets ravaged by the Terminid.
Helldivers 2 chainsword leak suggests Warhammer collab
It is no secret that players would love to see a collaboration between Helldivers 2 and Warhammer 40k, especially after the game’s first collab with the Killzone franchise. Recently, renowned leaker IronS1ghts posted an image of the Chainsword saying it is a melee weapon. While it doesn’t look exactly like the models we have seen in the Warhammer 40k universe, it doesn’t rule out the potential for a collaboration between the two franchises.

Helldivers 2 CEO Shams Jorjani recently called out some franchises such as Destiny, Starcraft, and Star Wars as being “a bit too sci-fi” for the Helldivers universe. However, Jorjani also stated that Games Workshop, the company that owns the rights to Warhammer 40k, “would love a crossover.” This means that there is a solid chance of a future collab between the two franchises.
Previously Helldivers 2 CCO Pilestedt drew the line on where collabs would end and it fell short of the Space Marines. Because of this, it is unclear whether or not we will see a collaboration with that specific part of the Warhammer universe. With all of that being said, the chainsword leak does give us hope that we will see a new melee weapon in the game, even if it isn’t a direct collaboration between Warhammer and Helldivers 2.
