Let’s be honest: if Wolverine and Magneto were actually fighting, Magneto would wipe the floor with Wolverine. We have seen this on multiple occasions, and it is because Wolverine has that unfortunate metal skeleton. While it makes him a much stronger mutant, it also allows Magneto to throw him around like a kid tossing around a toy soldier. This is why NetEase should update Magneto’s skillset so that his ult sucks in Wolverines and not just projectiles in the area.
Magneto’s ult has come into question recently thanks to one Marvel Rivals player discovering that Meteor M appears to pass through players. Since NetEase needs to work on this bug, the developer could also add a fun feature that many players wouldn’t mind having in the game.
Magneto’s ult should affect Wolverine
It would obviously be overpowered if Magneto could toss Wolverine around the map like a ragdoll. We can’t have that, or it would ruin the game. Instead, one user simply states, “Magneto’s ult should suck in Wolverines, not just projectiles.” In a post on Reddit, user Loreweaver15 stated, “I don’t care that it would be a detriment to game balance. I don’t care that it would be unfun for players of one character specifically. It would be the funniest ******* thing every time it happened, and I am ready to die on this hill. Just like the Wolverines.”
Surprisingly, many Marvel Rivals fans agree with the sentiment. As one user wrote on X, “This would be so funny, fun, and accurate. I wholeheartedly agree. I saw someone else talk about Rival abilities, not just team abilities, and that would also be so much fun!” “As a Wolverine main, this would be really funny,” wrote a user on Reddit. One more user wrote, “I unironically second this purely for balance. Wolverine needs a hard counter, preferably a tank, and if you’re dumb enough to roll a Wolverine against him, it’s your own fault.”
A simple balance to this feature would be to make it so that Wolverine can only be picked up within a certain radius of Magneto’s ult. This would make it so Wolverine couldn’t be picked up and thrown all the time but still give a nice boost to Magneto’s Meteor M. Of course, it also needs to affect the friendly Wolverines.
