There is almost an endless supply of characters that NetEase would add to Marvel Rivals. Many leaks have revealed characters such as Blade, Deadpool, Angela, and a lot more. Despite the leaked characters, fans have been throwing out names that they would like to see get added to the roster. One such hero many would like to see in Marvel Rivals is Ant-Man. This is mainly thanks to his ability to shrink and expand, which would undoubtedly change the game.
While Marvel Rivals has seen a wave of success, players also have their gripes. One such complaint is the amount of smurfing taking place, which has many players furious. Marvel Rivals also fell victim to layoffs where NetEase let go of the team that created the team-up mechanic.
Here is how Ant-Man could work in Marvel Rivals
Recently, players have begun talking about new characters for Marvel Rivals. One such character that players would like to see get added is Ant-Man. Ant-Man saw an increase in his fanbase after Paul Rudd played the character in the MCU. The hero’s shrinking and expanding ability would also add more depth to the team-based combat of Marvel Rivals.
User LOOWEEpsd showcased how they believe Ant-Man’s abilities would look in Marvel Rivals if he were to be added to the game. The image from the Marvel Rivals SubReddit shows Ant-Man towering over the other heroes standing on the vehicle point, and another image shows him shrinking to avoid Black Panther. This immediately sparked a debate about how his powers would work in the game.
We like to believe that while Ant-Man is enlarged, his footsteps would cause tremors and stepping on another hero would damage them, knocking them back in the process. It would also be nice to see him get the ability to pick up and throw other players to get them off of the point. While shrunk, Ant-Man could easily avoid damage by evading the other heroes, but getting stepped on should damage him.
One player responded to the post saying, “His ant size should be treated similarly to invisibility where you can’t contest the point unless you are normal size.” Another player responded saying, “Wait, I actually love this but he should also be able to be stepped on and have a super jump when tiny. I think it should purely be a flank/retreat ability with a medium cooldown maybe 12-15 seconds.”
Other players have been asking for Ant-Man to get instakilled by ults if he is caught in them while small. Some have also stated that his larger size should offer a range of abilities like a super stomp.
