Nintendo just announced that it will be collaborating with Lego once more to launch a brand new set based around the iconic Game Boy handheld console.
Revealed on the official Nintendo of America X account, this set is scheduled to launch in October 2025 and comes after the Lego NES set which came out in 2020. In this teaser trailer we caught a glimpse of what appears to be a Lego d-pad along with two purple face buttons. And while more details about this collaboration have not been revealed at this time it will be interesting to see the finished product in all of its glory along with the number of bricks it will take to build the device. Another nice touch that could be recommended for this set is a fully replaceable screen that boasts some of the consoles most iconic games but this has yet to be seen. The one thing that I am more interested in will be the final price of the set seeing how Lego sets tend to get pricy. To that I look to sets like the Great Deku Tree from The Legend Of Zelda which comes in at a hefty $300 price tag.
This partnership between Lego and Nintendo is a long standing one that spans countless sets based on various Nintendo owned properties like Super Mario, Mario Kart, and The Legend Of Zelda. But when looking at the various sets that Nintendo has collaborated on with Lego this will be a hot item for Nintendo and more specifically Game Boy enthusiasts around the world. And I do think with Nintendo clearly moving on through its pantheon of great gaming consoles there will be a day where we finally reach the pinnacle of this Lego and Nintendo partnership and get the mighty Nintendo GameCube as a fully buildable console.
