YouTuber Nate the Hate is saying that the reveal for the Nintendo Switch 2 is happening this coming Thursday, January 16. He says that what will be included is “incomplete,” because what he is hearing is that the reveal will almost exclusively focus on the console hardware and not include many games at all, though you may see something playing on a screen momentarily. You can hear him talk about this announcement in the video below at the 17:00 mark.
Of course, as with any other rumor on the internet, including the smorgasbord of Switch 2 leaks, take this with a grain of salt. Nintendo has been almost completely silent on the upcoming console, but a reveal could happen at any moment.
What will the Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal include?
If we are to believe that the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal is this week, we expect this reveal to be very similar to the initial trailer reveal of the original Switch in 2016. While that trailer showed Breath of the Wild, Skyrim, and Super Mario Odyssey, the real focus was on the portability aspect of the Switch and the various ways you can play on the Switch. This time, the trailer could focus on the new joy-con controllers or maybe a new feature for the console that Nintendo wants to sell.
The Nintendo Switch 2 console itself is probably the worst kept secret in gaming right now. Everybody is eagerly anticipating it, but the more important thing for Nintendo and its fans are the games. With the biggest confirmed Nintendo game coming this year being Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a quick snippet of that playing on the console. There are plenty of rumors of a new 3D Mario or Mario Kart as well, but Nintendo might want to hold off on showing those until a Nintendo Direct in February.
