The Nintendo Music app has added its latest game soundtrack and it is one of the company’s all-time bests. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker OST is now playable in its entirety on the mobile app. The playlist with all songs includes 133 tracks that run for a duration of three hours and 40 minutes.
Starting with its title theme, the Wind Waker OST is one of our favorite collections of songs in any Nintendo game. Songs like Dragon Roost Island, Forsaken Fortress Tower, and Ganondorf Battle stick out to us the most. Of course, there are plenty of classic Zelda songs included in the list, most of them just sounding slightly different from Ocarina of Time because of the change in instruments.
When the Nintendo Music app was announced a few months ago, there were already plenty of great games included in the soundtrack list. However, there were some standouts missing at launch, including the Wind Waker and Super Mario 64. Thankfully, Nintendo has been very good about regularly adding these and other games for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers to listen to. We regularly make use of the extend to feature which allows many songs that play on a loop to run for up to an hour uninterrupted.
After the Wind Waker OST, what’s next for Nintendo Music app?
As time goes on, even more soundtracks should be added to the Nintendo Music library on a weekly basis. We do wish we could see what games were scheduled for future release, but we would be lying if we said we didn’t kind of enjoy the surprise of waking up and seeing our favorites added the night before.
Currently, we know that Xenoblade and Fire Emblem fans are waiting for their games to get more representation. Pokémon is notably missing as well. We wouldn’t be surprised to see these games to get more love in the near future.
